I believe that the formation of political parties hurt democracy because of the continuing opposition of both parties. Moreover, a political party is an “organization whose aim is to gain control of the government apparatus”(Infoplease, n.p.). So, the continuing opposition of both parties will stir up issues that weren’t present at the time.
